AceShowbiz - Joss Stone has been deported from Iran on suspicion of attempting to sing in the strictly Islamic nation.
The "You Had Me" singer has been on a quest to play gigs in every country in the world, and after shows in far-flung locations including North Korea and Saudi Arabia, only had Iran to tick off the list.
However, her plans were scuppered by officials, who enforced Iran's law that women cannot perform public concerts, and she was ordered to leave after trying to enter the country.
"Well, we went to Iran, we got detained and then we got deported," the 32-year-old said in a video posted on Instagram.
Explaining further in the caption, the soul star insisted she didn't plan to perform a gig in the country because she didn't "fancy" going to prison, writing, "It seems the authority's (sic) don't believe we wouldn't be playing a public show so they have popped us on what they call the 'black list' as we found out when we turned up to the immigration hall."
"After long discussions with the most friendly charming and welcoming immigration people the decision was made to detain us for the night and to deport us in the morning."
Joss went on to praise officials for having treated her well and being moved by her story of attempting to perform in every country. The star also vowed to complete her round the world odyssey should Iran's laws change.
