One social media follower calls the 'Younger' actress child abuser for 'causing unnecessary pain' to her eight-month-old daughter, while another comes to her defense by sharing her own experience of getting pierced.

AceShowbiz - Hilary Duff has been called out by fans after revealing she has had her seven-month-old daughter Banks' ears pierced.
The 31-year-old shared a picture of her adorable baby girl on her Instagram page earlier this week (beg July 01), wearing a striped romper and hair turban, with fans quick to point out the jewels in the tot's ears. And social media users soon began criticising her decision to subject her child to the often-painful procedure.
"I can't believe someone who seemed so screwed on pierced her babies ears, causing unnecessary pain that isn't for medical reasons done by a fully qualified medical professional is child abuse in my eyes, the risks are unreal and that throbbing pain in her ears no matter how happy and looked after your child is just isn't justified in my eyes," one wrote, while another added, "Just won an unfollow after seeing you pierced her ears, poor baby. Bye!"
Others defended Hilary, with one replying, "I am 51 yrs old and my sister and I had our ears pierced when we were babies as well and done with a needle, Im ok , Im not traumatised and I don't remember because I was a baby. People need to stop judging what other people do, and look at what goes on in their own home."
While Hilary's critics were upset, having babies' ears pierced is a common tradition in African, Caribbean, and Asian cultures.
The actress has yet to publicly comment on the backlash, but shared a new snap of Banks with her hair in a high ponytail on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, and wrote in the pointed caption, "She has enough hair for a pony! Oh and yes we pierced her ears."
Banks is "Younger" star Hilary's first child with fiance Matthew Koma, and the actress is also mother to seven-year-old son Luca with ex-husband Mike Comrie.
