The 40 albums up for the Best Album prize will be narrowed down to only 10 with shortlist announcement to be done on July 6, while the winner will be revealed on September 16.

AceShowbiz - Carly Rae Jepsen and Shawn Mendes have made the long list for the 2019 Polaris Music Prize.
The award is given to the best album released by a Canadian artist in the past year, as judged by a panel of music experts, executives and journalists.
Albums by Voivod, Jessie Reyez, Yves Jarvis, La Force and Wintersleep are also among the 40 titles up for the prize.
The 10-album shortlist will be announced on July 6 and the winner will be revealed at the Polaris gala on September 16 in Toronto.
Thursday's long list announcement was made by 2015 Polaris Music Prize winner Buffy Sainte-Marie and The Weakerthans guitarist Stephen Carroll, among others.
Jeremy Dutcher won the Polaris Prize last year (2018) for his album "Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonawa".
