Accused of copying Nirvana's iconic smiley face image, the fashion designer has learned that his attempt to dismiss the legal actions against him has been denied by federal court judge.

AceShowbiz - Courtney Love, her daughter Frances Bean Cobain, and fellow rocker Dave Grohl have been granted permission to proceed with a copyright lawsuit against Marc Jacobs.
Last year (2018), Nirvana L.L.C. officials, including Love, Grohl and Cobain, daughter of the famed rock group's late frontman Kurt Cobain, sued the designer, accusing him of copying the band's iconic smiley face image, for which they claim to own the trademark.
The lawsuit referenced a collection by Jacobs named Bootleg Redux Grunge, which included a similar smiley face on socks, shirts, and sweaters.
The 56-year-old hit back at the allegations and filed for its dismissal, but according to court documents obtained by The Blast, a federal court judge has since informed Jacobs that his motion will be denied.
Nirvana L.L.C. bosses are claiming damages in excess of $1 million.
