Hit with lawsuit by the 'Rosemary's Baby' director over his axing from the organization, officials at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences fire back with request to dismiss his legal action.

AceShowbiz - Officials at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) are fighting Roman Polanski's lawsuit, insisting he has no right to sue while he remains a fugitive of the law.
The "Rosemary's Baby" director was expelled from the organisation behind the annual Oscars ceremony, alongside Bill Cosby, in May 2018.
Both men had been accused of sexual assault, with Polanski fleeing the U.S. to his native Europe after he was found guilty of raping a 13-year-old girl at a Hollywood party in 1977.
The French-Polish moviemaker, who has remained a fugitive ever since, filed suit against AMPAS bosses in April, claiming executives broke their own rules by failing to give him a fair chance to challenge the decision.
However, lawyers for AMPAS have now fired back at Polanski, insisting there is no truth to his claim as he seeks to be reinstated as an Academy member.
They are requesting to have the legal action thrown out of court.
