The late rapper was found dead in his vehicle over the weekend after authorities responded to a shooting in the area of Forest Drive and Cherry Grove Avenue in Annapolis.

AceShowbiz - The hip-hop community is mourning the loss of one of its talents once again. Tre Da Kid, whose real name is Edward Montre Seay, was found dead behind the wheel of his car over the weekend after being shot multiple times while driving across Annapolis. He was 32.

According to multiple reports, authorities responded to a shooting around 9:20 P.M. in the area of Forest Drive and Cherry Grove Avenue. They found a vehicle crashed at the scene, and the only occupant of that car was Seay. He was pronounced dead at the scene, with officers reporting that he died from gunshot wounds, not injuries caused in the car crash.

Police closed several roads in the area following the shooting as they continued to look for a suspect for several hours. The case remains under investigation.

Following his death, friends and fans of the rapper have been sending condolences through social media. Annapolis residents also staged a rally in the city for gun violence prevention. Gavin Buckley, the mayor of the city, said of Seay during the rally, "He was on the way to be something. People's hearts in the community are hurting. We need to stand with them and stop this kind of violence in the community."

There have also been calls from people who know the rapper to name a street in Annapolis after the recording artist.

Seay first gained national attention back in 2016 when he won 300 Entertainment and Verizon's Freestyle 50 rap contest. This earned him a $10,000 cash prize as well as a recording contract with 300 Entertainment. In the following year, he released a single titled "Run It" featuring TK Kravitz before releasing the well-received "Tdk: Titles Define Kings" project. Hitting the shelves in March of this year, the project includes 13 solo tracks.
