Also hitting the stage at the annual country music event are Tanya Tucker and Brandi Carlile, who are joined by a slew of fellow female country singers for a powerful rendition of 'Delta Dawn'.

AceShowbiz - Watching country musicians perform at a country music award is unsurprising, but Brett Young decided to bring an unexpected guest when he hit the stage at the 2019 CMT Awards on Wednesday, June 5. During the live ceremony that took place at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, the country singer was joined by Boyz II Men.

Following an introduction by Jimmie Allen and Michael Ray, the R&B group accompanied Young for a rendition of his single "Here Tonight". Backed by a live band, the four men showcased their harmonies and ad libs as they traded lyrics throughout the verse of the 2018 hit. Halfway through the song, Boyz II Men brought some flavor to the mix by briefly launching into their 1995 hit "Water Runs Dry".

Ahead of the show, Boyz II Men hinted that it wouldn't be the last time fans got to see the vocal group collaborating with country artists. Wayna Morris told Entertainment Tonight, "We've been doing for so long where you can try [whatever] ...and it doesn't affect who you are or what you've done in this business, so we're open to just about anything."

Another performance that was worth mentioning during the show was an all female performance of Tanya Tucker's classic "Delta Dawn". After Brandi Carlile sang the first verse of the 1972 song, both her and Tucker were joined by multiple generations of country women that included RaeLynn, Lauren Alaina, Martina McBride, Trisha Yearwood, Deana Carter and Carly Pearce. Their performance was so powerful that they received a standing ovation from the audience.

Carrie Underwood, meanwhile, opted to deliver a fun performance of her latest single "Southbound" at The Parthenon in Centennial Park. Looking gorgeous in a plunging mini dress that was embroidered with colorful embellishment, she got the crowd on their feet and dancing with her.

Elsewhere at the show, Keith Urban presented a touching performance of "We Were" while Kelsea Ballerini got edgy when performing her "Unapologetically" track "Miss Me More".

Hosted by Little Big Town, this year's ceremony saw Underwood as the biggest winner of the night. The songstress brought home two awards.
