In the wake of the tragic incident that killed 12 people, rapper Pusha T, actor George Takei and TV host Katie Couric have also turned to social media to express their heartbreak.

AceShowbiz - Pharrell Williams sent love to his hometown in Virginia after 12 people were killed in a deadly shooting.
Authorities said an employee opened fire and shot "indiscriminately" on Friday, May 31, in a Virginia Beach municipal building that houses several city departments.
The gunman, who was reportedly a disgruntled employee of the Public Utilities Department, was shot dead after engaging in a "long-term gun battle" with four police officers at the scene, reported Reuters.
Upon hearing news of the tragic incident, the "Happy" hitmaker took to social media to send his condolences to the family and friends of the victims.
"We are praying for our city, the lives that were lost, their families and everyone affected," Pharrell wrote on Twitter. "We are resilient. We will not only get through this but we’ll come out of this stronger than before we always do. #VIRGINIABEACH."
Rapper Pusha T also took to to social media to share his sadness at the shooting, and posted, "Sending my prayers and love to the city of Virginia Beach, condolences to all of the families who lost loved ones...I'm so sorry."
"Virginia Beach. I am so heartsick. #GunControlNow," "Star Trek" veteran George Takei tweeted, while journalist and TV host Katie Couric wrote, "This is heartbreaking and horrifying. This has to end".
Chief of Virginia Beach police James Cerveram told reporters that the shooting was a "devastating incident" that would change the lives of many families.
Authorities said one person was taken into custody after multiple people were injured in the shooting.
The identity of the gunman has not yet been released.
