The music video for the Zedd-produced track features the 'American Idol' judge joining a therapy, where she participates in a series of activities, to heal her broken heart.

AceShowbiz - Katy Perry has come back with a brand new song. Following a Q&A session, the "Teenage Dream" singer has released her much-anticipated single "Never Really Over" along with its music video accompaniment, which was filmed in a field in Malibu.

The colorful visuals opens with Katy taking a ride to what appears to be a love therapy center where she participates in a series of activities which includes dancing in the middle of a field and taking care of heart-shaped fruits. When the night comes, the "American Idol" judge and other participants gather around a fire and start chanting a spell, before they drink pink liquids from a bottle.

"Two years and just like that/ My head still takes me back/ Thought it was done but I/ Guess it's never really over," Katy sings on the pre-chorus. "Oh, we were such a mess/ But wasn't it the best?/ Thought it was done but I/ Guess it's never really over."

Prior to the release of the music video, Katy said of the visuals, "I would say that [in] this video, things that I'm touching on are kind of [out of] a time like the age of Aquarius, new age, esoteric, California, healing, hippie, medicinal -- all of those key words!"

Produced by Zedd, "Never Really Over" serves as the lead single off her forthcoming sixth album. "I worked on this song when I was on tour, and I don't really do that," she said of the song. "It's produced by Zedd, and I brought him the song and said, 'Wow it sounds amazing.' Specifically, the lyrics in the second verse that I really love is: 'I guess I should try to go to therapy to try to get you out of my brain, I can't even go on the internet, without even checking your name.'
