Lil Durk Surrenders to Police Over Involvement in Atlanta Shooting

According to report, the Chicago rapper will be facing five felony charges that include criminal intent to commit murder and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony.

AceShowbiz - Lil Durk has reportedly turned himself in to authorities in Atlanta where he is expected to be charged over his alleged involvement in a shooting outside The Varsity back in February of this year. This arrives just hours after the Atlanta Police Department issued a warrant for the rapper's arrest.

According to TMZ, Durk will be charged with criminal intent to commit murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and associating with a criminal street gang to participate in a crime. Meanwhile, Durk's affiliate King Von has already been detained prior to the rapper's arrest.

Durk's attorney has yet to respond to the news.

The shooting in question occurred on February 5 at 5:45 A.M., a few days after the Super Bowl. At the time, police found an unidentified man suffering from a gunshot wound outside popular restaurant The Varsity. The victim was then rushed to the hospital where he survived through surgery, as police said they recovered 13 shell casings from a rifle at the crime scene.

Police additionally said that they spoke to two witnesses and were told the victim appeared to be in a verbal dispute with an unknown black man before the shooting happened. The case is still ongoing as authorities review the surveillance footage of the shooting.

Hours before his arrest, Durk unveiled on his official SoundCloud page a new song titled "Turn Myself In", on which he name-drops Chance the Rapper and YNW Melly. The Chicago native also addresses his current legal situation, rapping, "False accusations why the name droppin'/ They wanna know if I'm rapping or robbing/ Taking these drugs for my family problems." On the song, he also insists that he is "an innocent man for sure."

As of now, the song has been streamed more than 10,000 times.
