The Bronx rapper recently took to Twitter to share the cover art, which featured infamous serial killer and prostitute Aileen Wuornos, to promote her new single 'Press'.

AceShowbiz - People may still remember that Cardi B previously made headlines after she bragged about drugging and robbing men during her days as a stripper in an old video. The "Bodak Yellow" raptress was heavily criticized for it, prompting her to issue a statement on Instagram. While many seem to have moved on, the topic is brought up again after Cardi unveils the cover art for her new single.

The Bronx rapper recently took to Twitter to share the cover art, which featured infamous serial killer Aileen Wuornos, to promote her new single "Press". "PRESS SINGLE AND OFFICIAL COVER ART DROPS THIS FRIDAY 5/31," the Grammy winner wrote in the caption.

For those who don't know, Wuornos was a former prostitute and was sentenced to death after killing 7 men in 12 months. She claimed she killed her victims in self-defense while working as a prostitute.

Cover Art for 'Press' puts Aileen Wuornos front and center.

This prompted people to think that Cardi is glorifying her past acts and making fun of it by deliberately using Wuornos for the cover art. Cardi, meanwhile, has yet to respond to the speculation.

After her old video resurfaced online, Cardi owned up to her mistake, writing on her Instagram account, "So I'm seeing on social media that a live I did 3 years ago has popped back up. A live where I talked about things I had to do in my past, right or wrong, that I felt I needed to do to make a living. I never claim to be perfect or come from a perfect world with a perfect past. I always speak my truth. I always own my s**t."

While she admitted to her dark past, the Bronx femcee said she never glorified those crimes. "There are rappers that glorify murder, violence, drugs, and robbing. Crimes they feel they had to do to survive," she continued. "I never glorified the things I brought up in that live I never even put those things in my music because I'm not proud of it and feel a responsibility not to glorify it."

"I made the choices that I did at the same time because I had very limited options. I was blessed to have been able to rise from that but so many women have not. Whether or not they were poor choices at the time I did what I had to do to survive," she insisted. "I have a past that I can't change we all do."

Cardi added in the caption, "All I can do now is be a better me for myself my family and my future."

While some Internet users started to trend the hashtag #SurvivingCardiB, some others sent support for the "Money" hitmaker. "Well said Boo we all have been there and had to do s**t we not proud of but the important thing is you continue to rise above it," one wrote in the comment section. "You are an inspiration baby and the hate is going to always be strong but the love will over power it."
