On behalf of 'The Hateful Eight' actor, lawyer Perry Wander states that the 61-year-old is taking his misdemeanour DUI charge stemming from his Malibu crash in March 'very seriously'.

AceShowbiz - Actor Michael Madsen has been ordered to attend recovery meetings at Alcoholics Anonymous while he is out of jail on bail.

The actor was charged with misdemeanour DUI after crashing his Land Rover into a pole in Malibu, California in March.

"The Hateful Eight" star must attend two Alcoholics Anonymous meetings a week as part of his bail conditions to remain free from custody ahead of his arraignment in June.

"My client is taking this incident very seriously and he looks forward to getting back on the set of his new film," Madsen's attorney Perry Wander tells The Blast.

The star is currently filming director Jane Spencer's sci-fi project "South of Hope Street" and recently wrapped Quentin Tarantino's much-anticipated period drama, "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood".

His latest legal drama reportedly cost him a role in a new crime movie. He was set to star alongside Tara Reid and rapper DMX in "Chronicles of a Serial Killer", but sources tell TMZ he is no longer a member of the cast.

Production chiefs were reportedly worried the "Reservoir Dogs" star would miss the shoot due to his potential incarceration. The actor was due to play a police officer in the psychological thriller. "Once Upon a Time in America" star James Russo has been signed up to the cast, allegedly to fill Michael's role.
