The 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star and her legal team successfully helped negotiate the release of Jeffrey Stringer, who was serving a life sentence in Florida for a low-level drug offense.

AceShowbiz - Kim Kardashian did it again! The reality TV star, who has been serious about her criminal justice reform work, has helped free another inmate who received a harsh sentence for a low-level drug offense. This time, the 38-year-old and her legal team successfully helped negotiate the release of Jeffrey Stringer, who was serving a life sentence in Florida.
Celebrating the reduced sentence, the mother of three shared a photo of Jeffrey's big family, who is thrilled for his release. "We did it again! Had the best call w/this lovely family & my attorney @msbkb who just won release for their loved one Jeffrey in Miami - he served 22 years of life sentence for low level drug case," she wrote in the caption, adding that her and her team's hard work was all paid off. "He served too much time but it gives me so much joy to fund this life saving work."
According to TMZ, Jeffrey was convicted for drug possession when he was 25, but because he had 2 drug priors, he got life under the federal three-strikes law. Attorney Brittany K. Barnett, whom Kim credited for securing Jeffrey's release, tells the site that they went to court and successfully argued he should be released under the First Step Act, which President Donald Trump signed into law earlier this year.
Brittany says that while she did the lawyering, Kim paid the bill. Jeffrey will reportedly be released on Monday, May 6.
Kim has previously helped several inmates seek clemency last year. She met President Trump in the Oval Office to persuade him to grant clemency for Alice Marie Johnson, a 63-year-old grandmother who was sentenced to life for a nonviolent drug offense.
She successfully helped Tennessee inmate Cyntoia Brown secure clemency, and offered to pay five-year rent for Matthew Charles, whose lease application was rejected following his release from prison under a criminal justice reform law.
Kim is currently studying law with plans to take the bar exam in 2022. Of what motivates her to pursue her degree in law, she told Vogue, "I just felt like I wanted to be able to fight for people who have paid their dues to society. I just felt like the system could be so different, and I wanted to fight to fix it, and if I knew more, I could do more."
