Looking back at her iconic slapping battle with the veteran actress in their 2005 film, the 'On the Floor' hitmaker admits to be left mortified after accidentally leaving her co-star with a blood blister.

AceShowbiz - Jennifer Lopez was left "mortified" after realising she'd injured her acting icon Jane Fonda during a fight scene in their 2005 film "Monster-In-Law".

J.Lo opened up about shooting the comedy on her YouTube channel on Thursday, May 02, revealing a slapping battle went too far.

"She really, really went for it, so did I and then I punched her in the eye by mistake," Lopez reveals. "I was so afraid to hit Jane Fonda in the face or hurt her in any way. And really, her character was very much like her and my character was very much like me. I was so afraid of her."

"(The scene) took on a life of its own. I don't even think we were supposed to slap each other. My nail went up into her eye. I was mortified."

A blood blister formed on Fonda's eye causing a headache for the makeup department, prompting Lopez to apologise over and over again to several people.

But despite the drama, the "On the Floor" singer admits working with Jane Fonda remains a career highlight.

"She is such a powerful presence and so in the moment," Jennifer says. "It is everything you dream of when you're coming up as an actress and you think about working with the greats."
