In the upcoming season of the Emmy-winning series, June is determined to make a big change, and she won't be alone to make it happen as she will be needing powerful allies for it.

AceShowbiz - Something big is coming in Gilead in season 3 of "The Handmaid's Tale". Hulu's Emmy-winning series has just unveiled the trailer for its highly-anticipated new season which sees Offred/June (Elisabeth Moss) taking down the Gilead patriarchy.

"Heresy, that's what you get punished for," Offred says in the trailer. "Not for being part of the resistance, because officially, there is no resistance. Not for helping people escape, because officially, there's no such thing as escape."

June is determined to make a big change, and she won't be alone to make it happen. "If I'm going to change things, I'm going to need allies--allies with power," she adds as scenes of Nick (Max Minghella) and Serena (Yvonne Strahovski) flicker on the screen.

"In June, witness the birth of a revolution," reads the words written across the screen. The footage concludes with Offred saying, "Now mom's got work."

Season 2 of "The Handmaid's Tale" ended with her trying to escape to Canada alongside her newborn baby Nicole. However, she made a sudden change of plan as she ended up giving her little daughter to another handmaid, Ofglen/Emily (Alexis Bledel). Meanwhile, she is staying behind to save her older daughter Hannah.

The first season of the series was mostly based on Margaret Atwood's original novel of the same name. The second season, however, departed from the source drastically. Fans assume that the forthcoming third season will continue draft away from the original story.

Also starring Joseph Fiennes as Commander Fred Waterford, Bradley Whitford as Commander Joseph Lawrence, O.T. Fagbenle as Lucas Bankole, Ann Dowd as Aunt Lydia, and Madeline Brewer as Janine/Ofwarren/Ofdaniel, season 3 of "The Handmaid's Tale" will arrive on June 5 on Hulu.
