The Beatles, in the meantime, lands second place while another K-pop boyband EXO claims the seventh place, just behind New Kids on the Block and ahead of NSYNC.

AceShowbiz - K-pop superstars BTS (Bangtan Boys) have been declared Google's most-searched boy band in the U.S. so far this year.

Officials at the Internet search giant have compiled user data to determine which boy band has piqued fans' interests the most since the turn of the year, with BTS landing at number one, thanks to their hit album, "Map of the Soul: Persona", the record-breaking popularity of their "Boy With Luv" single and video with Halsey, and their historic performance on U.S. comedy show "Saturday Night Live".

They have beaten out The Beatles, while the Jonas Brothers land third place, ahead of the Backstreet Boys and One Direction.

New Kids on the Block are at six, Chinese-Korean group EXO at seven, and NSYNC place eighth following their reunion performance with Ariana Grande at California's Coachella music festival on April 14.

B2K and 5 Seconds of Summer complete the Google top 10.
