AceShowbiz - A representative for Larry King has cleared up reports about the veteran U.S. newsman's hospitalisation, insisting rumours of a heart attack are inaccurate.
The beloved former CNN broadcaster was alleged to have suffered a medical crisis on Thursday, April 25, with sources claiming he went into cardiac arrest and required emergency heart surgery, but King's spokesperson has now addressed the headline-making news, insisting the 85-year-old is "in good spirits" and only required treatment for angina.
"He did not have a heart attack and he did not go into cardiac arrest," his publicist tells the New York Post's Page Six.
"King had already been booked in for an angioplasty procedure, which involves reopening an artery to restore blood flow, but he checked himself in early after experiencing chest pain, and underwent the scheduled surgery on Thursday."
"He has been recuperating in the hospital and is scheduled to be released soon," the rep shares, adding that King is expected to make a "full recovery."
