AceShowbiz - With her baby could be due any minute now, Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry did not make it to Idris Elba and Sabrina Dhowre's wedding over the weekend. The royal couple, however, makes sure that the newlyweds know they are happy for them by sending them a lavish gift.
According to Daily Mail, the soon-to-be first-time parents gift the British actor and his new wife a piece of art by duo the Connor Brothers worth around £7,000 or $9,000. The picture reportedly features a 1950s-style romantic book cover of a glamorous woman next to the words which read, "Why fit in when you were born to stand out?"
Idris and Sabrina attended the wedding of Meghan and Harry in May 2018. Explaining his connection to the prince, the "Luther" star said on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show", "Harry and I, we've hung out a couple of times through his dad...So I do a lot of work with them, Harry and Prince William a few times."
The 46-year-old actor married the former Miss Vancouver on Friday, April 26 at the Ksar Char Bagh hotel in Marrakesh, Morocco. The groom wore a bespoke suit by Ozwald Boateng, while the bride donned two custom dresses by Vera Wang. At the ceremony, Sabrina stunned in a classic off-the-shoulder white A-line gown. Later, she changed into a V-neck style embroidered dress with pearls and gemstones and finished with couture lace. Her make-up was done by British make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury.
The three-day celebration, which was attended by family and friends, began on Thursday night with a "colors of the Souk" themed dinner. On Saturday, the guests were invited to an all-white bash at the Mandarin Oriental, which emulated the atmosphere of a festival, according to British Vogue.
Idris and Sabrina met on the set of "The Mountain Between Us" in 2017. He proposed to her in February 2018, during a screening of his film "Yardie" at an East London cinema. It is a third marriage for Idris, who previously wed Hanne Norgaard in 1999 and was briefly married to Sonya Hamlin in 2006. He shares a daughter, Isan, with Hanne, and has a son, Winston, with ex-girlfriend Naiyana Garth.
