Sheila Ward has reportedly asked a judge to appoint her conservator of her son's business affairs since the 'Boyz N the Hood' director is being hospitalized after suffering a stroke.

AceShowbiz - Moviemaker John Singleton's mother has asked a judge to appoint her conservator of his business affairs as he recovers from a "mild stroke."

The 51-year-old "Boyz N the Hood" director was hospitalised last week (ends April 19) and reports suggest he has fallen into a coma, prompting his mother, Sheila Ward, to act in an effort to protect his business interests.

According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Ward wants full temporary control of Singleton's estate as he is "unable to properly provide for his personal needs for physical health, food, clothing, or shelter."

She claims that at the time he suffered the stroke, John was planning to put his signature on a lucrative settlement agreement and she wants to sign off on the deal on behalf of her son.
