AceShowbiz - Before fans get to know whatever Taylor Swift has prepared for them on April 26, the songstress delighted with performance of fan-favorite songs at the 15th annual TIME 100 gala. During the intimate and exclusive event that took place on Tuesday, April 23 at Lincoln Center in New York City, Taylor belted out hits like "Style" and "Delicate" in front of other attendees such as Gayle King and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
Bringing her guitar onstage, the blond beauty started it off with an acoustic rendition of "Style", before delivering a brief speech about the influence that songwriting had on her ability to cope with the ups and downs of life. "I've always known it was the main pillar of kind of my sanity as well, like I always looked at writing as sort of like a protective armor," she said.
Admitting that it was "weird" since writing songs about life usually referred to "vulnerability," she continued, "I think that when you write about life, it gives you the ability to process your life. I use it as a way of justifying things that happened to me. Whether they're good or bad, I like to honor the good times and really process the bad times when I write."
She then launched into a rendition of "Delicate", which was followed by an emotional performance of "Love Story" and "New Year's Day". Recalling the time when she wrote "Love Story" at just 17 years old, Taylor explained that she would sit alone in her room and "would think about what love would be like and obviously overdramatize and romanticize it when I would write about it."
The "Look What You Made Me Do" hitmaker closed out her performance with a rousing rendition of "Shake It Off".
Her performance arrived just a few days before Taylor is set to release her new project. While she didn't disclose what kind of thing she would release, many fans suspected that it would be a new song.
