A source who claimed to have direct knowledge of the situation told The Blast that her team began to notice that she was "out of control" during negotiation for her new Las Vegas residency. According to the source, it was clear to anyone who have interacted with the "...Baby One More Time" singer that she had not taken her medicine as prescribed and even took the wrong amount.

It was reported that her mental health "deteriorated" so bad that her father, Jamie Spears, decided to send her to a mental health facility. Her team was said to be relieved by the decision because they believed that their client "would be dead" if she didn't get major help right away. Jamie has been her conservator since she was put on 5150 involuntary psychiatric hold in 2008.

Britney announced her decision to take time to care for her well-being on April 3. She posted a quote that read, "Fall in love with taking care of yourself, mind, body, spirit" on Instagram, and wrote in the caption, "We all need to take time for a little 'me time.' " She reportedly checked into a mental health facility in Los Angeles.
