Carl Falk, Albin Nedler and Kristoffer Fogelmark have been using their expertise to complete the tracks that had been planned by the 'Levels' hitmaker in the final three months of his life.

AceShowbiz - Avicii is set for a posthumous return to the charts with the impending release of the album the dance superstar had been working on prior to his tragic death.

The "Levels" hitmaker, real name Tim Bergling, died on 20 April, 2018, aged 28.

Now, as the first anniversary of his passing approaches, his family members have revealed that fans will get to hear what the Swedish DJ had been planning in the final three months of his life.

According to The New York Times, they recruited producers and collaborators Carl Falk, Albin Nedler, and Kristoffer Fogelmark to complete the tracks, which were 75 to 80 per cent done when the star died, using their expertise and Avicii's detailed personal notes to finish the album as they believe he would have wanted.

"I was trying to produce through someone else's eyes and ears - someone who's not here," Falk told the publication. "It was really hard not to criticise yourself the whole time. Would he like this? What would he have done?"

The result is the album simply titled "Tim", and Falk explains the final songs Avicii had been writing were rather different from the club tunes fans were used to hearing from him.

"This was a different Tim," Falk shared. "A Tim that wanted to say something."

A key example is the project's first single "S.O.S.", on which Avicii had reunited with his "Wake Me Up" collaborator Aloe Blacc to belt out lines like, "Can you hear me, S.O.S./help me put my mind to rest."

"Tim" also features "Heaven", a track with Coldplay's Chris Martin, which leaked online last year (18).

"S.O.S." is due for release on 10 April, while the album, Avicii's third, will hit retailers in June.
