The high-profile illusionist has not been charged with a crime, but it is reported that one of the accusers claimed to have been assaulted at his Manhattan apartment in 1998.

AceShowbiz - Police in New York have launched an investigation into claims illusionist David Blaine sexually assaulted at least two women.

A high-ranking law enforcement source tells The New York Post the NYPD's Special Victims Unit has taken statements from two women, one who claims Blaine assaulted her at his Manhattan apartment in 1998.

"The NYPD takes sexual assault and rape cases extremely seriously and urges anyone who has been a victim to file a report so we can perform a comprehensive investigation and offer support and services to survivors," spokesman Phil Walzak told The Post.

The magician has not been charged with a crime. He told The Daily Beast he has no comment and has not been approached by authorities.

Former model Natasha Prince accused Blaine of raping her in London in 2004. Scotland Yard detectives took the woman's statement and later declined to take further action after investigating her allegation. Blaine denied the allegation.
