AceShowbiz - Kate Bosworth and Michael Polish are reportedly demanding that a $1 million (£766,700) lawsuit brought against them be dismissed.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the actress and her director husband are firing back at film producers who have accused them of withholding footage from the movie, "Little Brother of War".

The film is about the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians and their history of playing competitive stickball, which is similar to the sport of lacrosse.

Bosworth and Polish claim that any footage in their possession is rightfully owned by them, and allege that the producers' claims are "inconsistent with custom and practice in the entertainment industry".

Polish, 48, has alleged that the contract is now void and unenforceable due to fraud.

Accordingly, the 36-year-old actress - who is reportedly listed as one of the executive producers on the film - and her husband are demanding the entire case be thrown out.

In the original lawsuit, producers claimed Polish was only on set six days, but allegedly struck a deal with two cameramen to "commandeer" the raw footage with a plan to "release an infringing, unauthorised film" of his own.

They sued and sought a court order stating that they are the rightful owners of the footage, for the director to hand it all back over, and up to $1 million in damages.

The case is ongoing.
