During an appearance on Italian TV show 'Non e la D'Urso', the actress daughter of Dario Argento explains why she regrets speaking out to Ronan Farrow about the sexual assault.

AceShowbiz - Asia Argento would not go public with her sex assault allegations against Harvey Weinstein if she could dial back time.

The Italian actress spoke out to newsman Ronan Farrow for a damning New Yorker magazine article in October, 2017, and she has been regretting it ever since.

Asia told Farrow the disgraced Hollywood producer assaulted her in the 1990s, and then at the Cannes Film Festival last year (18), she alleged Weinstein had raped her when she was 21.

But during an appearance on Italian TV show "Non e la D'Urso", the actress says, "When people ask me if I would accuse Harvey Weinstein again, I say yes I would, because that helped so many women. But the truth is that no, I wouldn't do it again. Answering that question Ronan Farrow asked me triggered so many negative events in my life. So no, I don't think I would do it again today."

Asia also attempted to explain why she chose not to report her alleged rape to the police and press charges against the movie mogul, stating, "I was trying to normalise the situation. This is why I kept hanging out with Harvey Weinstein after what he did to me and why I accused him after 20 years."

"I always considered myself a strong woman, I couldn't accept that he did that to me, so I tried to normalise him. When I found out he did the same thing to so many other women I felt really bad. I thought I was the only one."

Asia has since been accused of seducing and sleeping with former child actor and musician Jimmy Bennett, who once played her son in the 2004 movie "The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things". He was just 17 at the time of the alleged encounter at a California hotel in 2013.

The actress has denied the allegations, claiming her co-star reportedly pounced on her.
