Speaking of Jah's 'Locked Away', the 'Smack That' hitmaker explains that the chorus written by his 15-year-old 'symbolizes how a kid could be mentally locked up' by the environment.

AceShowbiz - R&B singer Akon is helping his son get ahead in the music industry by producing his first EP.

The "Lonely" hitmaker's 15-year-old boy, Jahvor, is keen to follow his famous father into the charts, and the aspiring star, who will go by the name Jah, is preparing to release his first project on his dad's Konvict Muzik label this June to coincide with African-American Music Appreciation Month.

TMZ has obtained a sample of one the teen's tracks, called "Locked Away", which features Akon, and he explains there's a deeper meaning behind the song's subject matter.

"My son wrote the chorus and his verse to symbolise how a kid could be mentally 'locked up' and can't escape the inevitable ways of the streets (and) becoming a product of the environment," the proud dad tells the outlet.

The 45-year-old, real name Aliaune Damala Badara Akon Thiam, has six children with three different women, and Jah isn't the only one heading for stardom - his other son, Ty Pittman, features on rap newcomer MattyBRaps' "Let's Dance" release.
