While wiping her tears, the former Disney darling reveals that she's too bereaved to perform at the service, so the vocal duties will be taken over by her dad Billy Ray Cyrus.

AceShowbiz - Miley Cyrus couldn't hold back her tears when performing for Janice Freeman, former member of her team on "The Voice", at her memorial service. Prior to her emotional performance of "Amazing Grace", the "Malibu" singer delivered a moving eulogy that touched the hearts of many who attended the Celebration of Life for Janice Freeman on Monday, March 18 at Mariners Church in Irvine.

"Before we sing this song for Janice, I want to clear up a rumor. I was never her coach, ever. She was always mine," Miley said, earning a warm chuckle from the crowd. "I've learned more from her than anyone that I've ever gotten the honor to be in the room with, not just vocally, I should've gotten more lessons than I did, but she taught me everything that I know about love."

Later, while wiping her tears, the former Disney darling revealed that she was too bereaved to perform at the service, so the vocal duties would be taken over by her dad Billy Ray Cyrus, who sat nearby onstage with his guitar. "I had planned on singing a song for her, but just losing her is just too much for me. So... my dad's gonna take care of this for me. But, I'll always be your sister, I'm here for you, and I'm here for your family, and Janice I'll miss you more than I could ever say," she said.

Billy kicked off the song before Miley joined in halfway through the song. When the final chorus came, the wife of Liam Hemsworth sang it herself.

Janice passed away suddenly on March 2 from an "extreme case of pneumonia and a blood clot that traveled to her heart." Following the heartbreaking news, Miley, who had a great bond with the 33-year-old during her stint in season 13 of "The Voice", took to Twitter to share her feelings over the sudden loss.

"To hug you one more time @janice_freeman .... I made a promise to you here on earth and will keep that promise as you watch from heaven . To take care of your precious little girl , my baby sister . To shine light on your husband and mother when days are dark ! I love you," she wrote.
