AceShowbiz - KJ Apa has broken his silence following the death of his "Riverdale" co-star Luke Perry. Apa, who plays Perry's on-screen son Archie Andrews on The CW's series, took to his Instagram account on Thursday, March 7 to share a sweet photo of the late actor.

The photo saw Perry smiling brightly while riding a boat. "Rest in Love bro," Apa simply captioned the pic. Co-star Skeet Ulrich, who portrays F.P. Jones, wrote in the comment section, "Never forgotten... always with us."

Meanwhile, a slew of other "Riverdale" cast members, including Mark Consuelos, Jordan Connor, Casey Cott and Marisol Nichols, left multiple red heart emojis.

Prior to this, Apa seemingly expressed his feelings through Third Eye Blind's song "The Background" by sharing a screenshot of the song on his Instagram Stories. The lyrics of the song, which is about moving on after the loss of a loved one, included, "Everything is quiet/ Since you're not around/ And I live in the numbness now/ In the background."

Perry passed away due to a massive stroke on February 27. He was 52.

In related news, "Riverdale" saw a 30 percent spike among adults 55 and up, and a 10 percent jump in terms of total viewers for the Wednesday, March 6 episode. The episode, titled "Fire Walk With Me", marked the first episode following the devastating news.

It generated a 0.378 rating in the 55+ demo, an increase compared to last week's "Requiem for a Welterweight" that had a 0.290 rating in that older-adults range. Additionally, the latest episode had 964,000 overall audience members. It had 86,000 more "live" total viewers compared with the previous outing which had 878,000 viewers.
