'Captain Marvel' Mid-Credits Scene Connected to 'Avengers: Endgame'
Marvel Studios

One of the post-credits scenes in the Brie Larson-starring film confirms Captain Marvel's appearance in the final 'Avengers' movie.

AceShowbiz - There are two post-credits scenes in "Captain Marvel", and one of them will please fans who have been dying to see "Avengers: Endgame". The first scene, which appears in the mid-credits, confirms Captain Marvel's (Brie Larson) appearance in the third and final "Avengers" movie.

[SPOILER ALERT!] The scene appears to take place at the Avengers headquarters as Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), James Rhodes (Don Cheadle) and Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) are lamenting the mounting death toll in the aftermath of Thanos' (Josh Brolin) snap.

They turn their attention to Nick Fury's (Samuel L. Jackson) pager, knowing that his final act was activating it. They have been monitoring it, but Rhodey thinks it's "stopped doing whatever the hell it was doing." They try to figure out how to reactivate the pager, but before it works, Captain Marvel arrives among them. She looks at them all distrustfully and asks, "Where's Fury?"

While the scene is less than a minute long, it suggests that Captain Marvel will play a big part in their mission to rescue the other Avengers. Instead of appearing later in the film, she arrives early before the climax a.k.a. the dramatic showdown between the remaining heroes and Thanos.

The second scene, which appears after the post-credits roll, shows Carol Danvers' cat Goose hurking up the Tesseract on Nick Fury's desk after swallowing it earlier in the movie to keep it safe from the alien Kree. As revealed in the movie, Goose is actually a Flerken, an alien creature that resembles an Earth cat but has a pocket dimension and can suck things into it via its gigantic mouth-tentacles.

The Tesseract has played a big part in some of Marvel's movies, including "Captain America: The First Avenger" and "The Avengers". The post-credits scene explains how the Cube that contains the Space Stone is in S.H.I.E.L.D.'s hand before it is stollen by Loki in 2012's "The Avengers".

Meanwhile, new "Endgame" footage was revealed at The Walt Disney Company's Annual Shareholder Meeting on Thursday, March 7. While it has not been released online, the description on the Internet reveals the team is hatching a plan to undo Thanos' snap. It reportedly opens with the Avengers, Nebula (Karen Gillan) and Captain Marvel gathering in the Avengers compound. Nebula thinks Thanos would be in "the garden" now. Captain Marvel says they need to go there and retrieve the stones to undo everything.

The next scene shows Rocket (Bradley Cooper), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Nebula, Captain America, War Machine and Black Widow in space. Rocket asks if any of them has never been in space and warns them not to puke on his ship.

"Captain Marvel" follows Carol Danvers, who was an accomplished Air Force pilot before she left her earthly life behind to join the elite military team Starforce on the Kree planet of Hala. She is back on Earth when the Skrulls plan an invasion of Earth. The Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck-directed flick is due out March 8.
