Recalling the time she got approached by the 'Skyscraper' star over 'Fighting with My Family', the two-time Divas Champion reveals what he told her that caused her to cry her eyes out.

AceShowbiz - Wrestler Paige was left in tears when she learned Dwayne Johnson wanted to make a movie about her life and career.

The "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" star is the producer of the new biopic "Fighting with My Family", which centres on Paige's time working to become a World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Diva, and she reveals Johnson contacted her about making the movie after watching a 2012 documentary about her story.

"It all started with Dwayne," she tells People magazine. "I didn't know it was going to be made the day of Wrestlemania 2014. I get a text on my phone, 'Hey, it's DJ. I would love to talk to you at some point today.' I didn't know who DJ was! I didn't know he had a nickname. And then I go, I get taken to his room, he comes in, he's like, 'Hey, I just want to let you know that I stumbled across your documentary. And I fell in love with the family. I fell in love with your story and I think it's so beautiful and so relatable that I want to do a movie on it'."

"(I was) speechless," she continues. "I was crying my eyes out."

Dwayne, who used to wrestle under the name The Rock, also appears in the film, and Paige reveals he has become a mentor to her as she moves from wrestling to entertainment, following her ring retirement last year (2018).

"He's such a good human being and he always makes time to speak to you, even though he as the busiest schedule of anyone in the world," she says.

Actress Florence Pugh stars as Paige in the movie, which was written and directed by Stephen Merchant. It was released in the U.S. last week (ends February 15).
