Also blown away by the 'Kingsman: The Secret Service' star's vocal ability is director Dexter Fletcher who commends the actor's portrayal of the five-time Grammy winner in the biopic.

AceShowbiz - Elton John has never heard someone sing his songs as well as Taron Egerton does in "Rocketman".

The upcoming biopic, charting the English singer's transformation from Reginald Dwight to global superstar Elton John, hits cinemas in May (2019), with Taron taking on the lead role, Jamie Bell as his songwriting partner Bernie Taupin, Richard Madden playing Elton's lover and manager John Reid and Bryce Dallas Howard as Elton's mum Sheila.

Talking about the "Crocodile Rock" singer's reaction to hearing Welsh actor Taron's portrayal for him, music producer Giles Martin said in a new teaser trailer for the film: "Elton said I don't think I have heard anyone sing my songs better than Taron."

"And the great thing about Elton, he wants Taron's interpretation for the songs."

And director Dexter Fletcher, who recently won praise for his work finishing Queen flick "Bohemian Rhapsody", was blown away by the "Kingsman: The Secret Service" actor's vocal ability.

"Taron is actually singing in the film and he's so convincing. His voice is incredible," he gushed. "Taron is an actor of incredible range."

In the new 96-second clip, Taron can be heard singing "Tiny Dancer".

Taron himself said that playing the musical great has been a truly special experience for him.

"It's been the greatest joy of my professional life making this film," the 29-year-old smiled.

"The thing about playing someone so beloved, all we can do is give our heartfelt interpretation of his life and his music. Elton's song are the defining moments in people's lives and the songs should all come from a place of character."
