Having unfollowed the 'Game of Thrones' actress on Instagram, the director of 'The One I Love' fuels further speculation he has been dumped with a deleted 'this was not my decision' tweet.

AceShowbiz - Emilia Clarke has split from her director boyfriend, Charlie McDowell.

The "Game of Thrones" star began dating the 35-year-old last year (2018), and confirmed the relationship in a series of loved-up snaps on Instagram, including one of them kissing on a beach on her birthday.

A source told U.K. newspaper The Sun that Emilia had recently dumped her filmmaker beau after her work commitments took their toll on the long-distance love.

The 32-year-old has been shooting her new romantic comedy, "Last Christmas", alongside Emma Thompson, Henry Golding and Michelle Yeoh.

Charlie, son of Hollywood actors Malcolm McDowell and Mary Steenburgen, has now unfollowed her on Instagram and deleted snaps of them together.

He also appeared to suggest she had been the one to end the romance, and in a since-deleted post on Twitter, he told a fan, "This was not my decision."

Emilia previously dated Seth MacFarlane in 2013, while Charlie was in a relationship with "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (2011)" actress Rooney Mara from 2010 to 2016.

However, the actress is keeping busy amidst her heartbreak, as she recently announced that one lucky "Game of Thrones" fan has the chance to win the chance to go to the world premiere of the final season of the HBO fantasy drama with Emilia herself.

The Brit, who plays Daenerys Targaryen in the hit show, has teamed up with Omaze to encourage fans to donate to charitable causes - including one organisation that helps young adults recover from the impact of medical trauma - to be entered into a draw to win the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

"Game of Thrones" returns to HBO on April 14.
