When talking about motherhood on 'Katie's Crib' podcast, the former 'Pretty Little Liars' star also reveals why she was initially worried about having a daughter.

AceShowbiz - Actress Troian Bellisario feels terrible when her packed schedule gets in the way of mommy and me time with her four-month-old baby girl.

The former "Pretty Little Liars" star welcomed a daughter with husband Patrick J. Adams in October (2018) and admits she has since struggled to find a balance between parenting and staying on top of her workload.

"I want to be there for her all the time, but that's not possible," she tells the "Katie's Crib" podcast. "I become an empty well because I'm somebody who needs to work. I love working, I love being creative, and I want her to see that."

"I find that if I don't fill up my creativity well, even if it's meditation or exercise or I go get coffee with my writing partners... then I return to her, and I don't have anything to give her. If I feel good and I'm fulfilled, I want to engage with her."

The 33-year-old also reveals she initially worried when she discovered she was expecting a girl, due to the pressures young women face - and her own difficult relationship with her mother.

"I was thinking about my relationship with my mother, my history with an eating disorder," she explains. "My imaginings of a girl are so, 'You're gonna hate me'."

But the brunette beauty insists taking time for herself really helps her to get on top of being a great mum, noting one of her methods of self-care is meditating while breast feeding.

"If I put my phone down... breast feeding is almost a type of meditation because I don't know when it's going to be done," she adds. "I just have to sit there and engage with her (daughter)... and breathe until she's done."
