AceShowbiz - It's both exciting and saddening news for fans of "Fuller House". Netflix announced on Thursday, January 31 that the comedy series had been renewed for a fifth and final season on the streaming giant.

The series unearthed a video in which series star Candace Cameron-Bure suggested that the "farewell" season wouldn't disappoint fans. "We're saving the best for last," the D.J. Tanner depicter said.

Cameron-Bure also took to her Twitter account to share her feelings following the announcement of the final season. "Get ready Fannerinos! The farewell season of @fullerhouse is coming your way. We love our fans! Thank you so so much for your support over the years. We saved the best for last. #FullerHouse #FarewellSeason," she tweeted.

Fellow star Jodie Sweetin, who plays Stephanie Tanner, also took to social media to share her reaction. "Our farewell season of @fullerhouse is a go and it’s all because of you guys," she wrote on Instagram. "Thank you so so much! Without such amazingly loyal fans, we wouldn’t have been able to do this! And I promise, we saved the best for last. #fullerhouse #season5 #fullhousefamily."

Alongside Cameron-Bure and Sweetin, the sequel to 1980s TV series "Full House" stars Andrea Barber as best friend Kimmy Gibbler. They are all joined by Scott Weinger, John Brotherton, Juan Pablo Di Pace, Adam Hagenbuch, Soni Nicole Bringas, Michael Campion, Elias Harger and Fox Messitt.

Original cast members Bob Saget, Lori Loughlin and Dave Coulier also made regular appearance on "Fuller House". Meanwhile, fellow "Full House" alum John Stamos serves as executive producer in addition to recurring.

Netflix has yet to announce the exact premiere date of season 5 of "Fuller House", but it is expected to arrive sometime in fall this year.
