During an appearance on 'Live with Kelly and Ryan', the actor reveals that young 'Friends' fans sometimes get confused when they see the stars of the show in real life.

AceShowbiz - Matt LeBlanc told a young "Friends" fan to "scram" when he asked him if he was "Joey's dad".

The 51-year-old actor famously starred as Joey Tribbiani in the much-loved U.S. TV sitcom, which ran from 1994 to 2004.

Thanks to the regular re-runs of the programme, and the streaming of the series on Netflix, "Friends" is now being introduced to a whole new generation. But the younger fans sometimes get confused when they see the stars of the show in real life - looking older than they do in the programme.

"It seems like every year there's a new generation that watches it," Matt said as he appeared on "Live with Kelly & Ryan". "I was walking down the street one day, this was a few years ago, this kid, he must have been 13, 14, he's like, 'Oh my god, you're Joey's dad!' And, my response was 'Scram!'."

Laughing at his choice of word for the hit back, Matt giggled: "Scram? That's like what an old guy says!".

During the interview, hosts Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest also questioned how character Monica Geller, played by Courteney Cox, could afford to live in such a palatial apartment in New York - where property is so notoriously expensive.

"This has been a point of contention for a while now, other people have brought this up," he said. "The way we dealt with it on the show was that it was Ross (Monica's brother played by David Schwimmer) and Monica's grandmother's apartment that was rent controlled. Maybe even their great-grandmother's apartment.

"And also everything looks bigger on TV. But it wasn't that big. And I think the purple paint made it look bigger. Because if you looked closely, the faucet on the sink was old and crappy."
