Aside from a part on the BBC adaptation of Charles Dickens' novella, the 'Venom' star is likely to be included in Steven's other Dickens projects, including 'David Copperfield'.

AceShowbiz - New dad Tom Hardy has landed a "pivotal" role in a fresh adaptation of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol".
Writer/director Steven Knight, who previously worked with Hardy on "Peaky Blinders", "Locke", and "Taboo", has confirmed the actor will be part of his new BBC three-parter, which will revisit Dickens' classic tale about a miser who is visited by the ghosts of Christmases past, present and future.
In an interview with Collider, Knight revealed his version of "A Christmas Carol" will shoot this year, and hopefully air on TV in the U.K. at Christmas.
The filmmaker refused to reveal what part Hardy would be playing, stating, "He's gonna be pivotal in the whole thing."
If the actor takes on the role of Ebenezer Scrooge in the project, he'll become the latest in a long line of actors to take on the part - Jim Carrey, Patrick Stewart, Michael Caine, George C. Scott, and Alastair Sim have all tackled Dickens' most famous character.
Knight plans to follow up "A Christmas Carol" with modern adaptations of four Dickens novels, including "David Copperfield" and "Oliver Twist", revealing Hardy will most likely be part of each one.
"What I'm planning to do is adapt 'A Christmas Carol' and four novels and do it over a period of let's say six or seven years, and have a repertory of actors...," he says. "I think we'd get the best actors in the world to take part because the Dickens characters are so great... We'd do them in a modern way."
Asked to confirm if Hardy would be a party of each Dickens project, Knight adds, "I think so."
