Meanwhile, GaGa's songwriting partner, Mark Ronson, shares his reaction on them nailing the Best Original Song for 'A Star Is Born' tune, 'Shallow'.

AceShowbiz - Crooner Tony Bennett has lavished praise on his longtime collaborator Lady GaGa after earning two Oscar nominations for her work in movie musical "A Star Is Born".

The pop superstar learned on Tuesday morning (January 22) that she will compete for Best Actress and Best Original Song for "Shallow", after wowing fans and critics alike with her performance as struggling singer/songwriter Ally in the film remake.

GaGa has yet to comment on the news, but one of her closest collaborators, Tony, has shared his excitement for the singer-turned-actress over her latest career achievements.

"Dear Lady - I always knew you could do anything at the highest level of artistry," he tweeted, alongside an old photo of the pair onstage. "Congratulations on your Oscar nominations! Love, Tony".

The sweet message was posted two days after Tony reunited with GaGa for the premiere of her Jazz & Piano show in Las Vegas on Sunday night, when they belted out their jazz renditions of "Lady is a Tramp" and "Cheek to Cheek", the title track of their 2014 joint album, for which they toured together in 2015.

Meanwhile, one of GaGa's songwriting partners, superproducer Mark Ronson, was at an airport when he heard about the Oscar nomination for "Shallow", and confessed he had to suppress his joy so as not to disturb other early morning travellers.

"I was very excited but I was also trying to keep it (the noise) down 'cause it's an early flight, people looked a little like, in their thoughts," he shared in a phone interview with U.S. breakfast show "Good Morning America".

"It's very exciting, I wanted to hug somebody, but I have to wait until I get home."

It's GaGa's second time shortlisted for the Best Original Song Academy Award - she previously picked up a nod in 2016 for "Til It Happens To You", which she co-wrote with Diane Warren for 2015 documentary "The Hunting Ground".

The winners for the 91st Academy Awards will be unveiled on February 24(19) at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
