The 'Ocean's 8' actress is reported to be slipping into the role once portrayed by Anjelica Huston in the new film adaptation written and produced by the filmmaker behind 'Welcome to Marwen'.

AceShowbiz - Anne Hathaway has reportedly been cast in Robert Zemeckis' adaptation of Roald Dahl's 1973 book "The Witches".

The "Les Miserables" star will play the grand high witch in the film, about a seven-year-old boy who stumbles upon a coven.

Nicolas Roeg directed a 1990 movie adaption, which starred Anjelica Huston in the role Hathaway is slated to tackle. Zemeckis will also write and produce the feature alongside Mexican moviemakers Alfonso Cuaron and Guillermo del Toro.

It is also rumoured Viola Davis will appear in the movie.
