The retired Olympic gold-winning decathlete shares on Instagram photos of herself before and after her gender transformation surgery.

AceShowbiz - Caitlyn Jenner inspired others to "be authentic" on her most recent Instagram post. On Tuesday, January 15, the retired Olympic decathlete joined the popular 10-year challenge and encouraged her fans by posting her photo from 10 years ago.
She shared on the photo-sharing platform side-by-side photos of herself before and after her transition. While the image in the left was taken when she still went by Bruce Jenner, the right photo was a most recent picture of herself. "Now THAT is a #10YearChallenge Be authentic to yourself," she wrote alongside the photo, adding a purple love emoji in the end.
Her participation in the challenge garnered her followers' attention. Many of them praised her, calling her the "winner" of the challenge. Some of them also posted heartwarming comments. One particular person said, "One life to live , be who you were meant to be ! Authenticity is everything." Another person said, "literally the best 10 year challenge."
The former husband of Kris Jenner came out as transgender in April 2015. Opening up about how she was confused with her gender identity in the past, she told Diane Sawyer during her "20/20" interview that she is confident with her current gender. "I am a woman," she said at the time. "It's not like I've been dressing up like a woman, it's like I've spent my whole life dressing like a man."
The "I Am Cait" star completed gender assignment surgery in January 2017. When she spoke about her surgery in her book "Secret of My Life", she wrote, "The surgery was a success, and I feel not only wonderful, but liberated." She also explained that her decision to go under the knife was complex due to health risks.
"So why even consider it? Because it's just a penis. It has no special gifts or use for me other than what I have said before, the ability to take a whiz in the woods," the excerpt read. "I just want to have all the right parts. I am also tired of tucking the damn thing in all the time."
