AceShowbiz - Barbra Streisand and Bette Midler have led tributes to late Broadway legend Carol Channing, following her death on Tuesday, January 15.
The "Hello, Dolly!" icon passed away at the age of 97, and stars have flocked to social media to remember her work and celebrate her legacy.
Streisand, who took on the lead role as matchmaker Dolly Levi in the 1969 film adaptation of the famed stage production, referenced the show's song "Before the Parade Passes By", as she mourned, "Carol was a true life-force...a kind and effervescent woman who never allowed the parade to pass her by!"

"The great, the legendary #CarolChanning has died at age 97. She was a complete original, and there will never be another," shared Midler, who starred in the recent Hello, Dolly! Broadway revamp. "Blonde, 6 ft tall and utterly hilarious, she was a legend. My condolences to the world; to those who knew her or saw her and those who never got the chance."

Meanwhile, actor George Takei tweeted, "One of Broadway's greatest lights, Carol Channing, has passed on. She rejoins the heavens as a new diamond in the night sky, and as she famously sang, they are a girl's best friend. Goodbye and farewell, forever our Dolly."

His former "Star Trek" co-star William Shatner added, "Condolences to her family," while Rosanna Arquette posted: "Goodbye Dolly .. Rest In Peace carol Channing."

"Hamilton" creator Lin-Manuel Miranda also saluted Channing by quoting the lyrics to "Before the Parade Passes By", concluding his tweet with a sweet, "Goodbye, Carol," complete with red heart emojis.

Meanwhile, fellow Broadway star Audra McDonald shared a snap of herself with Channing, and captioned it, "RIP dear wondrous legendary lady. You were one of a kind," and Channing's longtime friend Whoopi Goldberg remembered her on her U.S. talk show "The View" by saying, "I adored her. She was amazing."
