Jessa Duggar is ready to help her eldest sister find a boyfriend. Days after Jana Duggar sparked speculation that she is courting by creating an Instagram account, the "Counting On" star has stepped in to set the record straight. Insisting that her sister is still single, she urges interested suitors to send their applications.
"Haha! That's been merely coincidence for some. Definitely not a prerequisite. She's not in a relationship," Jessa wrote back in response to a fan on the comment section of her Thursday, January 10, Instagram post. The fan's message itself read, "A courtship must be coming soon! All the duggars get on social media when they are ready to announce a courtship."
Not stopping there, the 26-year-old daughter of Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar reinforced her statement by presenting herself as matchmaker for her older sister. "But if anyone is interested, please send all applications to me," she jokingly added along with a winking face and a crying laughing emojis. "I will check them out thoroughly."
The wife of Benjamin Seewald replied to the fan on her January 10 post which captured smiling Jana holding onto Jinger Duggar's 5-month-old daughter, Felicity, while inside a car. She captioned the photo, "I love this pic of @janamduggar and our little niece! It's been so lovely having @jingervuolo and Felicity in town for a little visit! Such sweet sister time. Come again soon."
Jim Bob and Michelle have been known to be strict with their social media rules for their 19 children. Their children are not allowed to have a public profile until they are involved in a long-term relationship with someone. It is no wonder that fans were quick to come out with the speculations that Jana is courting when she joined Instagram on Thursday.
Jana's first upload on her social media account was a snap of Jessa's sons, Henry and Spurgeon, looking at a smartphone together while siting side-by-side. Along with the sweet picture, she wrote, "best buddies!" Her post was quick to steal the attention of "Bringing Up Bates" star Lawson Bates, who left a friendly comment that read, "So tech savvy."
Of her single status, Jana herself has previously said, "There have been different guys come along and ask, but they haven't been the right one. It's just one of those things. I'm not just out to get married to the first one who comes along."
