During a visit to 'Good Morning America', the 'Mean Girls' star unravels that she has bought the rights to bring Tina Seskis' romantic thriller novel to the big screen.

AceShowbiz - Lindsay Lohan is preparing to return to Hollywood as an actress and producer with a film adaptation of romantic thriller "The Honeymoon".

The "Mean Girls" star released her last big movie project, "The Canyons", back in 2013, before taking a step back from the limelight and relocating to Greece, where she has since established a growing club empire.

Lohan has since eased herself back into acting with the Netflix series "Sick Note" in 2018, and werewolf thriller "Among the Shadows", which is due to premiere later this year (2019).

However, Lindsay is now working on also building up her resume behind the scenes, after optioning the screen rights to a 2017 novel she read and fell in love with.

"I actually bought the rights to a really amazing book by Tina Seskis called The Honeymoon, so we're working on the script now", she told U.S. breakfast show "Good Morning America". "So that I will be in."

The actress is currently serving as executive producer of her new MTV reality show, "Lindsay Lohan's Beach Club", which documents her life on the Greek island of Mykonos, where she recently opened the daytime hotspot.
