AceShowbiz - Sarah Hyland and Keegan-Michael Key have fallen victims to Hollywood party crasher. The "Modern Family" actress and the former "Key & Peele" star were among those who got trouble in getting into W magazine's pre-Golden Globes party on Friday night, January 4, after getting tricked into giving away their ticket to a scammer.
The two Hollywood stars came to the extra-exclusive soiree at Chateau Marmont hotel with their party tickets in hand. Before they stepped into the elevator to get to the sixth floor where the party took place, they were asked to hand their tickets by a male posing as security staff, per report by Variety.
However, when they arrived on the sixth floor, Hyland and Key got denied entry by the official security team due to missing tickets. Confusion began to arise when more guests came without tickets and insisted they, like the two stars, were asked to hand their tickets before hopping into the elevator.
An investigation quickly revealed that the security guard who asked for the tickets was an imposter. The man, described as a tall white male wearing black suit and white shirt, had vanished from the premises by that point. Nobody knows what his intention was, but Variety speculated it possibly had to do with selling the tickets for big bucks.
There was no report that the incident disturb the party. Hyland, Key and other stranded guests, who fell victim to the scammer, were in the end allowed entry by the party organizers.
The pre-Golden Globes party itself saw the likes of Nicole Kidman, Lili Reinhart, Amy Adams, Patricia Clarkson, Michael B. Jordan, Troye Sivan, Emma Stone and Olivia Colman among the attendees. "Roma" director Alfonso Cuaron and "Sharp Objects" helmer Jean-Marc Vallee were also spotted. Meanwhile, "Pose" star Billy Porter turned head in an oversized black fedora.
