AceShowbiz - Grunge pioneers Nirvana are suing Marc Jacobs over the alleged theft of their smiley face logo.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, the band claim the designer's Bootleg Redux Grunge collection heavily features the use of a smiley face logo very similar to theirs.
Nirvana has owned the trademark to a their smiley face design since 1992, and lawyers for the group claim Bootleg Redux Grunge is a "blatant ripoff" of the design.
They also allege that the former band, made up of late frontman Kurt Cobain, bassist Krist Novoselic and drummer Dave Grohl, was one of the founders of the grunge music scene, so even the name of Jacobs' collection is linked to Nirvana.
