AceShowbiz - Carrie Fisher's brother Todd Fisher plans to release scores of the late star's unpublished work.

The beloved "Star Wars" icon suffered a cardiac arrest on a flight from London to Los Angeles and passed away in hospital days later on December 27, 2016, at the age of 60.

Her mother, "Singin' In The Rain" star Debbie Reynolds, tragically died the following day, aged 84.

In a new interview with ABC News, Todd revealed that there are plenty of unpublished writings from his famous sister.

"We have a lot of her artefacts, and a lot of things of hers that she's written that will someday be shared," he explained. "There's a lot more to come from Carrie."

He also briefly spoke about his sadness over Carrie and Debbie's sudden deaths.

"I do miss them both tremendously. At the same time, I have so much left behind by them both, and so many great memories," he added.

Carrie's death prompted many "Star Wars" fans to question how the sci-fi franchise will reprise her character, Princess Leia/General Organa, in next year's "Star Wars Episode IX".

And Todd shared that he and his family were excited about how director J.J. Abrams is using footage of the actress.

"We're not allowed to talk about the details of anything," he told "Good Morning America". "But we're thrilled at what's been done."

He also insisted that the footage J.J. has used will please the hordes of "Star Wars" fans.

"There's a lot of minutes of footage. I don't mean just outtakes," Todd explained. "This is unused, new content that could be woven into the storyline. That's what's going to give everybody such a great kick. It's going to look like it was meant to be. Like it was shot yesterday."

Carrie last appeared as Leia Organa in 2017's "Star Wars: The Last Jedi", which she completed before her death.

"Star Wars Episode IX" is scheduled to be released in December 2019.
