The 'Cheap Thrills' hitmaker makes the revelation when responding to a Twitter follower's question when she is going to treat her fans with new music.

AceShowbiz - Pop star Sia Furler has promised fans a real treat in 2019 by teasing the release of a "feature length musical" written and directed by the hitmaker.

The "Chandelier" singer/songwriter was previously said to have filmed a top secret project, titled "Sister (2019)", with Kate Hudson in late 2017, with the plot reportedly based on a one-page story Sia had created about a drug dealer and his autistic sibling.

The shoot marked Sia's feature film directorial debut, and it appears she is gearing up to launch the movie next year.

After one fan requested an update via Twitter on when they could expect new material from the star, Sia replied by revealing she was preparing to serve up a double delight for her devotees.

"Please answer me love. When are we getting new music (like 2019 or later)," the follower wrote, to which the musician responded, "Next year I'm releasing an album and a feature length musical I wrote and directed. Lots of fun things to come!"

It's not clear if the movie musical is the same project she had been working on with Hudson, but it seems that film is no longer called "Sister", as it's been listed simply as "Music" on imdb.com. It has yet to be given an official launch date, but "Music" also features actors Hector Elizondo and Leslie Odom Jr., comedienne Tig Notaro, and Sia's frequent music video star, Maddie Ziegler.

Meanwhile, the new album will be Sia's ninth studio release, following 2017's "Everyday Is Christmas", which featured original tunes for the holidays, and 2016's "This Is Acting".

She has since formed the supergroup LSD with producer Diplo and rapper Labrinth, and contributed songs to the soundtracks of Jennifer Aniston's new movie, "Dumplin'", Jennifer Lopez's "Second Act", and Natalie Portman's "Vox Lux".
