The former child actor reprises his role as Kevin McCallister on that day of the year when he has the house to himself.

AceShowbiz - Macaulay Culkin is back as Kevin McCallister in a new ad for Google Assistant. The 38-year-old revisits his "Home Alone" character as an adult just in time for the holiday season, during when he usually has that event called "House to yourself."

Recreating scenes from the popular Christmas movie, Kevin shaves his face, jumps on the bed, decorates a Christmas tree and eats alone. With the help of Google Assistant, he also answers the door without leaving the couch, telling the pizza delivery guy, "Keep the change, you filthy animal."

Later in the night, he asks Google to start "Operation Kevin" which turns on some electric devices. Apparently learning from his past experiences, Kevin has prepared some decoys to scare away potential intruders who have been targeting his house.

Sharing the ad on his Twitter page, Culkin tweeted, "Have you ever wondered what Kevin McCallister is like as an adult? Me neither. But just in case you're curious you should totally watch this #ad."

Google also releases a behind-the-scenes video of the making of the ad. "It was interesting going back and doing all of this stuff," Culkin says of reprising the role. "They do a very good job on the set decoration and the props and all the shots were really spot on."

When stopping by "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" in April this year, Culkin told host Ellen DeGeneres that he doesn't often watch the two "Home Alone" movies which catapulted him to his fame. "I don't watch them all that often," he said on the talk show. "We did a 15-year anniversary DVD commentary and I realized I hadn't seen it in 15 years."

"While (director) Chris Columbus he watched it the night before like a responsible human being," he continued. "When I'm watching it, I'm remembering that day on set. Like how I'm hiding my Pepsi behind the couch or something like that. I can't watch it the same way other people do."

He also revealed that he usually turned down requests to recreate the famous expression he made in the movie whenever he got asked, as he found such requests to be both "flattering and creepy." He jokingly said, "Been there, done that already, guys. I'm like 37 now, OK mom?"
