AceShowbiz - Reunited Irish pop stars Westlife have enjoyed a pre-holiday "sing song" in preparation for their 20th anniversary celebrations in 2019.

The "Flying Without Wings" hitmakers confirmed plans for a new album and tour in October, six years after splitting up, and on Wednesday, December 19, singer Kian Egan revealed they had officially returned to the studio to work on fresh material.

Sharing a snap of himself with Nicky Byrne, Shane Filan, and Mark Feehily standing at their microphones, Kian wrote, "So this happened... our first sing song together since we got back together! 2019 will be nothing but Epic! Can't wait for you all to her the new tunes! All coming early 2019!!!!."

He also revealed the quartet will kick off the year with an appearance on Britain's "The Graham Norton Show", before launching "The Twenty Tour" in Belfast, Northern Ireland in May, 2019.

"Graham Norton Jan 11 is where it all starts!" he added. "#westlife #westlifetwenty".

Previous reports suggested the boys had recruited Ed Sheeran to write a few new tracks for them.

Original bandmate Brian McFadden, who quit the group in 2004, will not be joining the band for the reunion album or tour.
