The Duchess of Sussex's account is mysteriously reactivated after she shut it down in January this year following her engagement to Prince Harry.

AceShowbiz - Meghan Markle's fans excitement turned into disappointment when her personal Instagram account made a brief return on Tuesday, December 18. The account, which the Duchess of Sussex deleted in January this year following the announcement of her engagement to Prince Harry, was reactivated overnight.

For a few hours, Meghan's photos that offer a glimpse into her personal life were back on her fans' Instagram timeline. Many were delighted at the thought of the former actress' return to the social media site, but they soon noticed that the photos which were up on the reactivated account were dated back from the time before she was dating Prince Harry. In fact, the last photo showed on the account was from April 2016.

While fans were still baffled by her choice to return to social media, their question was later answered with an explanation that shut down all the excitement. It was revealed that Meghan's account was not intentionally reactivated by the "Suits" alum. Royal reporter Omid Scobie explains that the account's brief return was the result of a "system glitch" on the app.

The Kensington Palace has not commented on the matter. The palace explained in January that Meghan "has not used these accounts for some time, she has taken the decision to close them." While many thought that it was due to royal protocol that she deleted the account, Omid Scobie clarified in a tweet that "no one's not allowed" to use social media in the royal family. "It was always her decision," he stressed.

Meghan is currently expecting her first child with Prince Harry. The 37-year-old is due to give birth in spring.

On Tuesday, she visited Brinsworth House, a residential nursing and care home for British entertainers run by the Royal Variety Charity. Wearing a white dress and a gray coat, she told retired West End theatre actress Josephine Gordon that she was feeling "very good" and "very pregnant today" as she cradled her baby bump.
