Responding to the casting news, the 'Assassination Nation' actor jokes on his social media that he is going to prepare himself by getting 'on the treadmill for the next 700 hours'.

AceShowbiz - Joel McHale will portray Starman in upcoming superhero series "Stargirl".
The "Ted" star will play Justice Society of America member Sylvester Pemberton's alter ego on the show, which will centre on a high school student who brings together a group of young heroes to fight villains, according to Variety.

Brec Bassinger will portray Stargirl, aka Courteney Whitmore, on the show, which is based on DC comic book characters created by Geoff Johns, who will also executive produce the series and write the pilot episode.
